Settling

Settling is a funny word. It can be positive, or negative, or fraught with subtext, or just refer to playing an epic hexagon-based board game (Settlers of Catan). It is somehow simultaneously what we are NEVER supposed to do and what we are ABSOLUTELY supposed to do by the time you are… well my age I guess.

All of this is to say that I am finally settling in here. My rigorous experimental schedule means I cannot travel as much as I want to. While this is a bit sad, it does mean that I am “forced” to find things that are new and fun here in Aarhus. So far I have: found a yoga studio I like, found a few grocery stores that I like, and have started enjoying my twice-to-thrice daily walks through the Bonatnisk Have (sunrise picture seen here).

All things considered, this is a very a beautiful place to live and I am very lucky to have this opportunity. (this is also what I need to remind myself of after 13 straight days in the lab).
