visas, planes, and automobiles

The first part of my week this week was spent getting my visa paperwork filed and my biometrics taken. Which has paid off because as of this morning the consulate confirmed they have everything they need! Visa= DONE!

The next step was planning our departure to Denmark after the Holidays. From talking to people who have moved to Denmark, they all caution about the loneliness. In addition, I have had my dog for over 9 years now. She has been with me through all of graduate school and all of its challenges. After a lot of thought, I have decided to bring my best pal with me on this crazy adventure. Even though I think she is better behaved than a lot of humans, the airlines won’t abide her sitting in the seat next to me on the plane. Soooo after talking to vets, friends, and pet relocation people, we have a plan! She and I are on the same flight out of LA. She has a longer layover in Amsterdam to give her time to rest and get fed while I fly to Copenhagen where I will be waiting for her! Hopefully she finds this to be a fun adventure

The last thing is planning our road trip from North Carolina back to California. I-10 or I-40? 4 days or 5 days? Funyuns or Kettle Chips? SO many choices to make between now and December.
